With her mother’s life hanging in the balance, Scarlett is devastated – and done with being in the dark. She wants answers, all of them.

But when was her pursuit of the truth ever straightforward?

Pulling a single thread impels a great unravelling. And each revelation will force Scarlett to rethink what she thought she knew about the Ceruleans, the Fallen, her family – herself.

All that came before was a mere prelude to this, the last journey. From London to Twycombe to Hollythwaite to Cerulea, Scarlett will be stalked by the ghosts of what has been, what may have been and what may come to pass. Until she reaches the place where it all began, and it all must end.

But in the final reckoning, none will survive unscathed. And some will not survive at all.

In this explosive conclusion to The Ceruleans series, all must be defined by their actions: sinner, saint… or something more beautiful entirely?

Hey! Today it's Darkly Deeply Beautifully by Megan Tayte's Release Day! I've been asked to hold a Launch/Release Party for it, and now here I am. For those who haven't heard of the book, it's the last book in the series called The Ceruleans. At the end of this party, there will be a giveaway in order to win very cool stuff! Make sure you join! And oh! Megan will be doing a guest post in order to explain her works! Are you ready for it? Here it goes!

The story of The Ceruleans – about love and loss, light and darkness, good and bad – is based on my own efforts to make sense of a world in which people close to you can die; in which being true to yourself can be incredibly difficult; and in which love – for people, for places, for a way of being, for an ethos – is the only reason to hold on.

The series is set on the south coast of England, and follows Scarlett Blake, an ordinary girl who’s forced to take on an unordinary power over life and death. Awesome for some, perhaps, but not so much Scarlett, who struggles with the responsibility and how her light isolates her from the people she loves.

The cast ranges from hot surfer/chef Luke Cavendish, to tortured healer Jude, to feisty fashionista Cara, to away-with-the-fairies Grannie Cavendish. But it’s Scarlett’s family who take centre stage. Her sister, Sienna, who’s turned murderous; her mother, Elizabeth, who’s wrestling with the ghosts of the past; and… well, that would be a spoiler.

In Darkly, Deeply, Beautifully, the fifth and final book in the series, the story reaches its climax. Every secret I’ve held back through Books 1 to 4 is laid bare, and in the devastating aftermath each character must choose at last: sinner, saint… or something more beautiful entirely?

  1. Thank you very much for sharing. Megan x

  2. Your bookstore is absolutely lovely. Its name, Bite Some Books, is perfect and creative in this age of endless technology. That is definitely a name that calls a person to do some serious reading. The readers among us salute you and your good taste in running a book business. That's the good stuff alright.
